This may count as a double post but what-evs…I'm not going to repost it all here because it's all in a thread in the cat health section of the old forum. Send your positive and healthy vibes for my old man tomorrow. I'm just really, really worried he's not going to make it through the surgery. I don't really have a choice, though, because if I don't do the surgery he'll eventually die from the fallout of the gum & tooth infection anyway. Thanks…

All the best for little Lex. Luthor. Evil. Incarnate.

But even evil, yes evil, needs a support group. And we are just the few to be it. THe group. Of support.

He's in good shape. Thanks for all the well-wishes! I have never been as nervous dropping off a pet as I was this morning. I thought I was actually going to puke in the vet's office from anxiety.

I did ask him to clean the rest of his teeth if possible, but he didn't want him to be out any longer. Now we'll finish the current round of antibiotics, then he wants to do another because of the diabetes.

I'm picking him up after 6.

Oh, and although we ARE, in fact, a DC family, he is actually named after the Lexmark box he was born in. Lex Mark Ward is the full namek-grin (And Jesus Tap Dancing Christ, can I tell you how much I love all these new smileys?)small-cat-3-1cat-sleep-1cat-088-2

So glad to hear he made it through OK. I'm familiar with that feeling, just taking a cat in for a normal check-up gets my stomach tied up in knots. I was a nervous wreck for two days waiting for blood test results when Maggie was sick last month. Last year when she had her nose biopsied and we had to wait to get her seen by a specialist? I had to just about be forced to eat. k-nuts

To answer your question on the other boards, Millie got over having her teeth out almost instantly.

He seems to not be bothered by it at all. No hard food for a week, but it won't kill the other fatties not to free-feed for a week.

It may not kill them, but they will most definitely make you think it is killing them!!!k-grin

My vet has said not to free feed diabetic cats but then Tink would eat 24/7 if she could so maybe it depends on the type of diabetes they have. She's also on m/d (diabetic food) so it would be bloody expensive.
