Monday, 01 January 2007 : Is it finally over?
I suppose one must start off this news entry with the perfunctory salutations of HAPPY FREAKING NEW YEAR!
Now that that is out of the way, I suppose I should mention some of my resolutions for you all to laugh at, though my new year started technically on June 23, the anniversary of my personal revolutions around the sun. This year was my 37th. Hooray to me. Light a candle and say a damned prayer for the world, Jim is still alive!
Lessee... resolutions. Okay... for one, no more picking on Dim!
Two... more cats and catty-type orchestrations. Having been working on my bar-straunt for the last 7 months, it has been more than difficult to stay on top of things at MCHY. I plan to reverse this trend with some clever maneuverings. You'll see! Punk ass.
Creating less duress for those in front of me in queue at the grocery stores. This has become a problem in the past with me carrying on and singing songs of my fathers at top notch.

Develop more compassion than ever for everyone, especially for those who need it the most, such as Evil Leader W and his murdering cronies. I have recently read some Buddhist material referring to a particular evil-doer and murderer who after serious and determined acts of redemption purified his karma even after the taking of life. I am hoping that there lies some kind of redemption for Evil Leader W upon his death, though hopefully before, though somehow I don't see him as the real 'soul-searching' type, ya know? He just sort of sits there and grins like a stone manifestation of the Eternal Soul of Stupidity. I try to detect a smidgeon of sentience in the hubris that is his very character (and not much else, I am afraid). But none. This brings up the question to my mind: does he even know what the hell he is doing? He has brought about the death of a dictator and fellow murderer, all the while spewing rhetoric about how the world must be made aware that this kind of behaviour will not be tolerated. So, Saddam Hussein dies for killing 148 Iraqis in 1982 and is gone after with great fervor and fanfare (including the deaths of over 3000 innocent Americans - the troops.) Yet, in Darfur over 400000 people have perished since 2003 in a genocide and Bashir, Gosh, and Taha still remain untouched and largely unknown. Where is the invasion of the shithole that is Sudan and the overthrow of its and utterly corrupt government? Where is the shock and awe for the conflicts in Crotia? Living in the ivory tower; such danger for one's soul. Being a Buddhist, I believe there is eventual enlightenment even for Evil Leader W and I have compassion for his ignorance and willingness to commit atrocities in the name of my country. I guess believe is not the right word, as it tends to maintain a cerebral center. Rather, I KNOW it is. I just wonder at what cost to the rest of humanity. The power base of Evil IS great and its further incursion into our lives should be monitored and fought at every chance. Gandhi pulled off some amazing stuff against the Imperial Evil of his day. Perhaps we may do the same?
Oh, yeah, resolutions... so... I am going to try to ignore the U.S.A. media. After the murder of Saddam Hussein, I did a Yahoo search and found HUNDREDS of articles from around the world condemning the act as a public murder, an act of terror, and so on. But looking at U.S. rags, all you see is... EVIL HUSSEN KILLED 148 PEEPS! (Not the candy chickies.) and what a VICTORY for the great U.S. and A.! It reminds me of Orwell's 1984, knife, fork, and spoon. The whole 'coalition', ' great victories', all that shit. But then you look around the rest of the world, and they are like... you guys are FUCKED and so is the monkey running your show. Now that I think about it, aren't WE supposed to have the monkey on the leash, not the other way around? So, all these countries are condemning the execution. One can easily say, well, sure they are Jim... they are SOCIALISTS and COMMIES and don't believe in the death penalty, you liberal scum! This gives me pause for thought. Looking at the democratic process espoused in Evil Leader W's anti-Muslim rhetoric (and if you don't think it is, you aren't listening very closely), one may think that given the majority of 'civilized' nations who decline to kill their criminals, WE may have it wrong. If there was a global vote on the subject, we would be in the minority and would have to play along, cause that is the democratic process, yo! Well, unless you don't like the rules, then you just go play pouty boy on the other side of the playground. (Yes, I am talking about the Palestinian elections and possibly the Kyoto Treaty.) It seems that Evil Leader W is all for democracy when it fits his purposes, yes? OMG ! Speaking of fitting purposes, remember this, WORLD!!! If you cross the Bush family, you are fucked. After you kill 148 of your own people we will STILL do business with you (as seen here in 1983 with Rummy and Hussein being pals)

but if you stop playing our game, you are fucked. Ask Manuel Noriega and others. Soo... anyway, screw the U.S. media. Never liked em in the first place.
Oh yeah... GO USC !!! I would never be caught on a good day saying that usually, BUT... it is the Rose Bowl and I AM from Los Angeles. Not that I have any allegiance to the University of Spoiled Children, but it SHOULD be a good game. Just... not for Michigan. That whole Texas thing last year... who would have thought? Not I.
That is all. - Jim
